Real time Community Forum?

I am a newbie to Oxid and have my Learner’s Plates still posted when I dabble with Dreamweaver. I wanted to know if there was a ‘real time’ forum or chat room where OXID related discussions can take place. Posting new threads is still an excellent method for patient users and I am unashamedly wanting to get me OXID eShop up and running fast and therefore impatient.

Haste makes waste - so it would be better to do things a little slower but accurate. AFAIK there is no IRC-Chat or something similar for OXID, at least no official one.

But the forum is quite quick in answering, helping or getting one back on the right track.

Besten Danke Ray,

I have persevered with the help content and a bit of trial and error and found the program is very forgiving. I am now looking without much luck yet to change the following areas:

  • Shoplupe
  • Trusted Shops
and I wanted to rebrand the Home Page Banner to reflect the business name. Perhaps it is a requirement that “Oxid E-Shop Community Edition” stays on the web page at all times?

Thanks in advance

Don

Hi,

no, there is no live support team. But as Ray said, the forum is in most times very quick.

As an alternative, we offer hourly based, individual introductions for beginners to get a quick start.

I just found the german documentation how to change the top banner:

No need to keep the “Oxid esales” as header!

Check here for what templates show what content:
http://www.oxid-esales.com/en/resources/help-faq/eshop-manual/template-documentation-eshop-40

As we just had a bigger step in the oxid shop evolution, the documantation on templates are not yet updated. The template structure has changed a little, maybe this can help you:

and one thing I found out:
there is an Oxid-IRC-Channel -> http://wiki.oxidforge.org/Oxid_IRC
(but not in use frequently…)
