How to redirect the home page

Hello, I would like to know how to do it with smarty redirect home page to another page, I want this option just for the first page of the site, can you help me plz

Hi otmanehammadi,

probably the most simple and for search engines safest way is to redirect it mapping your server to the appropriate URL. Another way could be a redirect by php.

Where to redirect to, an external URL or just inside the shop? And why?
