1. I created a new coupon (gutschein) series with 20 coupons, assigned all users, all products, and all categories.
Coupons:
are a 10% discount
don’t expired
use random #'s,
are ‘No’ for all 3 "Valid with xxx Series options
When I Generate->Save->Export->Download the only results is a .cvs file. I opened it in Excel and it only shows “Gutschein” in cell A1.
The manual says the coupons are accessible at /export/oxexport.csv but that gets a 404 error. So I checked /export/ directory and there are only 2 files (dynexport.txt (0 bytes) & Index.html (32 bytes)
Admin->Core->Settings->Shop->Use Vouchers is checked.
Could someone please educate me? Because I’m obvious an idiot for not being able to figure out this simple function. :o
2. And newbie question #2…how are the coupons distributed to the assigned users? For example, after creating a coupon for new users to get 10% off their first purchase, a .cvs file is created. So the shop owner manually sends out the coupons in an email? (again I’m an idiot…I know…so I ask for your forgiveness and patience.
let us firstly talk about #1, alright?
You are not an idiot There’s just an error message missing if the folder is not writable (somewhere in bugtracker). Please set /export/ to writable via your FTP program (or the console). What happens, can you export now?
Marco,
Thank you…Setting permissions to 777 (writable) solved the Export, blank Excel file issue.
Could you offer help with the newbie #2 question?
"How are the coupons distributed to the assigned users? For example, after creating a coupon for new users to get 10% off their first purchase, a .cvs file is created with the 10 random #'s listed.

there are several options how to use the generated coupons. Some shop owners print them to leaflets, others use them for social media marketing. But of course you can use them in your newsletter system as well.
If you decide for the newsletter system in OXID eShop, you cannot aim new users as newsletter recipients firstly would have to subscribe via double opt-in, right?
Because users are required to register an email when creating an account, a nice ‘next step’ for future versions would be to be able to automatically email a coupon directly to an assigned user group.
For example “10% off for newly registered users between Mon. and Thurs.” or “5% off all purchases for PowerBuyers on Tues.”
New technologies should be introduced and there are so many things which may be considered that this is one of the best which is easier than any thing else.
