I know this may see odd but I’m looking for a way to temporarily disable Registration and a few other misc options. I went through all of the admin settings but I couldn’t find any options to do so. I would hate to have to go into the script itself and most likely cause havoc to the entire site. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks!
What is the reason behind this? You want to disable until the shop is ready? Or is it a live-shop?
The reasoning is, as of right now, I do not want to sell stuff online. We deal in high quality products that require over the phone customization and actual meetings beforehand. The reason why I chose to use OXID eshop is because of how smooth, slick, and professional it looks. I see a lot of room for expanding (for us) by using it and I have always been a fan of open source. That’s my reasoning
Is it possible or should I keep looking?
If you don’t want your users to be able to buy stuff… why don’t you just adjust the template files and take away the “Add to cart” button and user panel links?? shouldn’t be that hard I think…
just asked because there are several ways to achieve things for several reasons
In your case, you want to use the shop like a catalogue only for your customers, right? Then you could “magically” get rid of the “to cart”-button by switching on Stock Management, set stocklevel to “0” for each item and mark them as “If out of stock, not orderable”.
The first option you will find in Master Settings -> Core Settings -> Settings -> Stock and the other two options you will find when administering an article within the tab “Stock”.
If you do it like this, you will have the option to “turn on” the basket button any time for selected items.
@lanluoteylin
have you ever thought about the “curiosity”, that this topic was made before the topic you suggest to stay in?
“double post” means that one person creates two or more topics with completely the same question.
and nevertheless the topic you wants to stay is completely different with this one.
