I was reviewing some modules In the eXchange, and the Private Sales Invitation module (I’m assuming this is the same module now used in V4.4.5) states:
“Shopping club invitation module allows members of shopping club to invite new users and to get credit points”
Having credits is a wonderful thing. Everyone should have some credit …but
Q1. The # of credits the user has is not displayed in their Account page (or anywhere else I could find).
Q2. How are the credits actually used? Seems like credits could be used as incentive to invite friends. But it seems they’re only used for Admin.tracking purposes.
It also states, “Perfectly fits for private shopping clubs, where new users can become members only when they are invited.”
“Access by invitation only” is a feature I’d like to use, but I can’t seem to find how to enable this.
Q. Am I missing something?
I am pretty sure I found the answers to your in the private sales film/screencast. Could you hava second look to it? (sorry, I’m on the road right now and a bit handicapped with looking it up for you)
It explains how to enable the invitations and private sales login and what ‘invitations’ are but nothing really about
Why users can’t see how many credits they have
Why they can’t use their credits (there’s no incentive to invite people if you can’t use the credits).
What the manual is talking about when it states, “Perfectly fits for private shopping clubs, where new users can become members only when they are invited.”
Thanks for your help. I know you’re got a busy schedule.
…well I guess ‘credits’ are like a person’s appendix…it’s there but doesn’t actually serve a purpose.
…and the mysterious ‘by invitation only’ function seems to be more like the U.S.'s search for W.M.D.'s (Weapons of Mass Destruction) in Iraq…‘written about but not actually there’.
Too bad…they would have added an appealing dynamic to the site.
the feature can have very different specifications for each business model and the shop owner may decide how to use it. Thus, we just implemented the basic functionality in this step. Means - the feature comes not polished out of the box and apparently has to be adapted in every case.
