Web Page has gone white

Hi Forum,

Bizarre occurrences… Coinciding with my Comodo SSL expiring, my website - https://www.neighbourhoodwatchshop.com.au has stopped working. In fact it has gone white with no errors showing to start debugging.

Whilst checking every possible bell and whistle, I notice that under “Hot Link Protection” in cPanel WHM 56 (Build 58) that it said "there was an error while enabling HotLink Protection.Could not open .htaccess file (/home/neigh/public_html/.htaccess)

I am now assuming that something is wrong with the script on my htaccess file for some reason. This is what is there now:

# In case you want to add a .htpasswd authentification
# you'll have to add the host of the shop as an allowed entity,
# so that calls from the host skip the authentification
# Example:
# Order Deny,Allow
# Deny from All
# AuthType Basic
# AuthName "Access not allowed"
# AuthUserFile path_to_htpasswd_file/.htpasswd
# Require valid-user
# Allow from localhost
# Satisfy Any

On a different matter, I can’t seem to load the COMODO SSL Certificate for neighbourhoodwatchshop.com.au.

Can anyone suggest a cure?

The SSL Certificate has been successfully inserted however this has not fixed the problem.

I am thinking it must be the

Hi Don,

I reckon it is none of the suspected. Just some hints:

  • Try to provoke the error again and shortly afterwards, check the error log of your server. Maybe you’ll find some helpful hints there.
  • Use this tool to find altered files that shouldn’t be touched: https://github.com/OXIDprojects/oxchkversion

Cheers Marco

I’ll give it a try.

Having read the ‘destructions’, can you tell me what the file is supposed to do on it’s own? Should I have toggled something on or off? I have placed it in my Public_HTML file which is what I call root.

The file does not appear to work. Do you have any suggestions?

The root of the shop is the folder where config.inc.php resides.
