I have 4.2.0 shop and I want to upgrade it to 4.6.0. Is it possible to use export/import functions to move exist database to clean installed shop 4.6.0 or there is only one way to upgrade is using cumulative patches?

no,not so quickly. the first way is to update to 4.4.8., then to 4.6 that’s right ray?
yes, correct
You need to do a “quickstop” at 4.4.8 first, then go on to 4.6
It would be possible to create a copy of your 4.2 database and run the SQL-Updates from Cumulative-Packs (first to 4.4.8 and then to 4.6)
Then connect this updated Database to your fresh installation of 4.6 and check.
But no guarantees! As some Update-Stuff isn´t located inside the SQLs it would be better to make a copy of the existing shop, run all updates by using provided updateApps in Cumulative Patches and later connect this database to your fresh installation.
There are a few more things to take notice:
- are all needed Modules working with 4.6 already?
- changed picture handling
- changed theme management
-…
