CE4.10.3 SMTP Error emails

Dear IT Think Tank (ITTT),

I have moved or migrated a domain from one poor web hosting provider to a new and hopefully better webhost provider.

Since the move, I have been getting error emails which seems to be generated automatically by the OXID website. Here are some examples:

From: [email protected]
Sent: Friday, 16 June 2017 9:39 PM
To: [email protected]
Subject: eMail problem in shop!
Error sending eMail(First page of Google!) to:
[email protected]
Error : SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

From: [email protected]
Sent: Saturday, 17 June 2017 7:01 AM
To: [email protected]
Subject: eMail problem in shop!
Error sending eMail(Thank you for registering with the Neighbourhood Watch Shop) to: [email protected] (Geoff Hebbard)
Error : SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

From: [email protected]
Sent: Sunday, 18 June 2017 2:28 PM
To: [email protected]
Subject: eMail problem in shop!
Error sending eMail(Quote) to:
[email protected]
Error : SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

In the CMS under the Master Settings –> Core Settings
there is no place to view let alone change the SMTP settings, ports, authentications etc. (Good suggestions for upgraded versions down the track maybe)

Can you tell me where to look and if neccessary make changes?

Hi Don,

try to define the SMTP server with protocol and port, for example: ssl://smtp.gmail.com:465.

That nailed it in one try. At least it worked on one auto email so I am assuming that it will work for them all. I will keep you et al posted!
