Changing texts, colors, etc

Dear Forum members,

Newbie to Oxid here! Managed to install the latest version on my domain factory site. I figured out how to change the oxid logo to my shop logo, but I’m confused about the next steps. The manual seems to be out of date (where is Look&feel??), and I can’t find any information about how to modify the site for my needs.

More concretely:

How do I change the text on the site? The welcome text for example?
How do I change the colors that are being displayed?
How do I remove/add Sidebar items (like “Top of the Shop”)?

Maybe I overlooked something, but OXID doesn’t seem to provide this information…I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction! Thanks!

Hi,
probably you have got a manual for oxid prior 4.5.
Look and feel has vanished. You have to manipulate the css to change color.
Some Blocks you can change at Master Settings >Core Settings >… or at Master settings > Themes > Settings. But many things you have to change in the Templatefiles on the Server.
Texts are in the File /out/<yout template>/<your language>/…(read about translation) or as CMS Page in the backoffice at Customer Info > CMS Pages.

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I’m using the manual thats on the oxid website, which still refers to the look&feel. Do you know of a more up to date manual?

I’ve managed to change a couple texts through the CMS thing, but through the files themselves. Which file do I change to remove sidebar items, for example?

Or is there a central place where all these things are explained? The online manual doesn’t seem to explain any of this…

Thanks

Just a few weeks ago there was a release of a new documentation for Oxid. http://www.amazon.de/Online-Shops-OXID-eShop-Roman-Zenner/dp/3868991530?tag=warrawee-21
Otherwise: http://wiki.oxidforge.org/Main_Page you looked there for Manual and tutorials?
And last but not least Searchfunction of this Board, there are plenty of threads containing information for changing themes etc.
