Installed fine but why language revert?

Hi there,

Oxid is really awesome software! A brilliant product with loads of cool features.

Just one question however,

I did a complete install of OXID_ESHOP_CE_4.2.0_23610 and experimented with it and began setting it up for my business.

I went to sleep and when I went to the front page this morning, I saw the site had reverted back to German language and there was the following message:

"Willkommen im OXID eShop 4
Dies ist eine Demo-Installation des OXID eShop 4. Also keine Sorge, wenn Sie bestellen: Die Ware wird weder ausgeliefert, noch in Rechnung gestellt. Die gezeigten Produkte (und Preise) dienen nur zur Veranschaulichung der umfangreichen Funktionalität des Systems.

Wir wünschen viel Spaß beim Testen!
Ihr OXID eSales Team"

Does this mean the software is demo only and not free?
It there a setting to change if it is free?

I reactivated the display languages button, clicked it and the site returned to how it was last night…
But will it keep reverting?
Is there a setting to change so it will stay on english

That must be a mistake.
The Community Edition ist free and you can use ist in any language.
Maybe you should check your settings.

Sure: Login to your admin panel (http://www.yourshop.com/admin), go to Master Settings -> Languages, mark English and set the option “Is default”.

Thanks for the quick replys.

What I did was the following:

I did set the system to default = english langauge.
But then I disabled the “display languages” setting.
After a day, I saw that my site had reverted back to German.
After I re-enabled and hit the language button today, the site went back to english. Maybe it’s a cache thing or something. I will check it again tomorrow…

I also noticed that in German, I can see a tag cloud but in english, the tag cloud vanishes. Is there a tag cloud setting where one can enable/disable?

Again, thanks for your support and for this brilliant product! I have run the course of a good few e-commerce products over the years but OXID is just perfect for me and my clients. Very glad I found it and this community.

No need to enable the tag cloud in English :wink:
The mystery is: Only German tags are pre-filled with demo-data at the articles. You can enter tags while editing articles.
