Hi everybody,
have a look at this interesting “open source marriage” of OXID and TYPO3 (or other CMS):

I see there’s already plenty of discussion going on in the German forum for this topic, but I’m posting here as it’s the only English related thread I can find. So sorry if this is a repeat question.
So with a CMS like TYPO3 installed and with related content added to an OXID template is the following true?
When an OXID shop page is loaded, the TYPO3 content is now loaded from the server running TYPO3. That is, the shop now relies on up to two databases when loading pages, the main OXID database and, if applicable, also the TYPO3 database.
Hi,
first, i’m very glad to get feedback from non-germans
What TOXID does ist, that you could include content from nearly any CMS (we prefer TYPO3) into OXID.
For that we build a new component and a news controller and template to display those contents.
You COULD get any content from an external source, but most users use the classical OXID pages for shipping-informations, etc and add more “story-telling” pages or additional informations about manufacturers via the TOXID module.
We do NOT access the database of the system directly, but grab the content via XML. So the basic rendering is done inside the CMS.
Best
