for your information: a new Oxid-Ogone interface (developed by our Certified Solution Partner mediaopt GmbH) is now available to download via OXID eXchange.
The new plugin supports OXID CE, PE, EE as of version 4.5.
I’ve got this module up and running for a site in Ireland on version 4.5.3.
Integration is very smooth and it works very well.
I am using the redirect payment method for Visa, Mastercard etc.
The problem I am having is that at stage 4 of the checkout process when you hit the “Submit Order” button, the customer and shop owner are immediately sent an order confirmation email. This all happens before the customer is redirected to Ogone’s payment page to enter their Card details.
The order status in the admin area is initially set to “error” and changes to “Ok” once payment has been processed.
I have been told that it was designed this way in consultation with Oxid and Ogone.
I have 2 questions:
Is this how other payment modules work?
Would it be easy to change the sending of the emails to after confirmation of the card details?
I have asked the developer of the module for more info.
What I am trying to find out here is at what stage of the checkout process does the customer get sent an email etc. using other redirect payment modules.
Hello Sean,
I would need a certain PAYID to check if these emails are send automatically by the Ogone system.
Generally: In the back office you can configure under Technical information >> Transaction e-mails >> “E-mails to the customer” at what stage of the payment process the Ogone system would send an e-mail to the card holder.
I am trying to find out at what stage the order confirmation email from the Oxid system would normally be sent.
This is the email with details of what is in the customer’s order.
I just feel that in the Ogone module it is being sent a step too early - i.e. before the customer inputs his card details.
I have discussed this with Philipp Derksen who made the module. Apparently this was the way he was requested by Ogone to develop it.
I’m asking here to see if other payment systems are using the same method for confirmation emails.
Hello Sean, please contact our help desk directly via or via support ticket or via phone (+44 (0)20 31 47 49 66).
Thanks a lot &
Kind regards
