I have researched the cause of the subject error message and everything points to simple ticks re: choosing a country, product, etc.

Can there be another reason for this error message. I only have 3 products to sell and it is killing me.

try to unassign all products, all countries etc. from the shipping methods, Take a look at the demo configuration as well:

Yes. This is a regular demo installation of the regular shop package delivery. Credentials are admin / admin if not pre-filled yet.
