Portuguese Translation

Hi.
After a brief search I have not found a portuguese translation for this store.

So, I am making a new one. I have already translated 50%.

I could use some help, not for the tranlastion, but to make it work, because I can not make this language work at is own, i have to put it on english directory to work as portuguese.

Sorry for my bad english…

Did you have make a new language?
admin->master settings->language
Then I hope, that oxid try to find the lang-files in folders named by iso-code.

Yes i am making a new language based on the english.

I have it almost done maybe 75% are translated.

I am also making the setup to the portuguese language but i can not find, yet, how to put in the box to select the language.

After I have all this done I will make the admin in portuguese too…

When i have finished i will put in here to other make some tests.

I mean, if you have ‘say’ to oxid, that there is a new language called portuguese?
This should happen in
admin->master settings->language

our friend Vikram made a very complex tutorial of language handling in OXID eShop. Maybe the part “Adding New Languages” is helpful to you:

What we could do furthermore, is to place the 75% translated language file here:

Maybe somebody else could help translating.

In the meantime, I would write a short step-by-step tutorial of how to add a new language to the shop using Portugese as an example.

the portuguese translation for the front office is done.

i have found a problem.
when I change on the front office to the portuguese language the information like the links desapear… why is that?

Hello monteiro,

under the given link I could see a standard shop installation but unfortunately no portugese language. Could you try to zip and post the lang.php for the frontend as an attachment here?

Sure :slight_smile:
The demo data still had to be translated. See what I did with the category “Presents” in your shop. It works like this:

  • go to Administer products -> categories, mark a category
  • select list in the top right corner shall be set to English
  • scroll down to the bottom of the category and copy “Presents” to Portugese
  • switch to Portugese and translate to “Presentes”
  • save
