What does OXID stand for?

Never really crossed my mind until now: what does OXID stand for? Is it even an acronym?

Or is it secret…:wink:

nope, not a secret :slight_smile:

Once upon a time … the first version of OXID eShop (still without a marketing name) was planned to be published in October 2003, the date wasn’t fixed before. So the development decided to use “ox” as a prefix in all database tables. As all tables needed an ID, the name was defined one day…
